Students of Grades 4 to 7 visited the Chengamanad Handloom Society as part of an educational field trip to understand the traditional process of handloom weaving. During the visit, they observed how yarn is spun into thread and skillfully woven into beautiful fabrics using hand-operated looms without the use of machines. The artisans warmly welcomed the students and even gave them an opportunity to try weaving on the looms. The interactive session allowed students to engage with the weavers, clarify their doubts, and gain a deeper appreciation for the dedication, skill, and effort involved in creating every piece of handwoven fabric. The visit proved to be an enriching and memorable learning experience for all.
